Welcome to StarMC! This page explains “the first steps” from joining the server to owning your own town.

STEP 1: Preparation at the Lobby

When you log into the server, you’ll first spawn in the lobby.

  1. NPC: Talk to the guide NPC in front of you to learn basic command usage.
  2. To the Earth Portal: Travel to the Earth map, your living base, through the falling portal to Earth in the lobby.
  3. Freedom: From there, you can join a town, create a town, or just roam freely.

STEP 2: Earning Funds (Gold)

StarMC’s economy is all about Gold. You need gold to create and maintain a town.

  1. Resource Gathering: Go underground and look for gold ore.
  2. Gold Value: 1 Gold Ingot = 1G
  3. Exchange Method:
  • Use /sell hand or /sell all to convert gold ingots or gold blocks in your possession to currency.
  • Use /buy <amount> ingot or /buy <amount> block to purchase gold ingots or gold blocks using currency.
  1. Money Management: Check your balance with the /money command.

Nether gold ore is adjusted to produce “gold nuggets” when smelted, so mining in the Overworld is more efficient.

STEP 3: Creating a Town with Towny

Once you’ve gathered enough funds (creation cost), it’s time to create your own base.

  1. Find a Location: Look for land you like that’s away from other players’ protected areas.
  2. Create a Town: - Type /t new [town name] to establish your town!
    • This makes that chunk your protected territory.
    • Town creation has a creation fee. Check with /towny prices.
  3. Town Maintenance: Towns incur daily “maintenance fees (taxes).” Don’t forget to deposit money in the town bank with /t deposit [amount]. If the balance runs out, the town will collapse.
  4. Town Management: Check town information with the /t command.

STEP 4: Preparing for Planets and Conquest

Once your town is established, look to the stars in search of more wealth and glory.

  1. Use the Shuttle: Travel to other planets from the shuttle terminal on Earth.
  2. Planet Regulations: Each planet has “prohibited items.” Check in advance with the /planet info <planet name> command or the Planet Guide page.
  3. Check the Schedule: Check the regularly scheduled Conquest events via the /schedule command or lobby NPCs.
  4. Join Conquest: Participate in Conquest and aim for victory rewards.
